Wear and return

The American postal service deserves a more credit than I give it. I’m amazed that I can slap an address sticker on a package, put it in a mailbox, and in a few days, it will be delivered across the country. I know it isn’t perfect, but it’s a pretty remarkable service and one of the only parts of the federal government that I trust in on a daily basis.

I’m a working mom and I honestly can’t find the time to go shopping for new clothes. My body has changed so much since I’ve been pregnant. It’s not all bad, just different. I’m about 15 pounds lighter than I used to be, but I still wear the same size clothes. Things are baggier in places where they used to be full. Boobs after breastfeeding are never the same. All I want to do is find a pair of pants that fit me right and a shirt that isn’t too loose or too tight.

I’ve heard of people using Stitch Fix, an online personal stylist, but you have to buy the clothes and I just don’t have the budget to constantly keep adding new pieces to my already full wardrobe. A friend at work said she loves using Le Tote, an online clothing rental service. Now you’re talking my language.

Basically, you pay a monthly fee ($30-60, depending on how many pieces you want shipped at a time) and you pick items to rent. They ship them to you, you wear them, and then ship ’em back. They’ll send you another set of clothes once the old ones are returned. The icing on the cake is you return them without washing them! I don’t know about you, but I’ve got enough laundry to do and not enough time to do it.

I ordered my first box for free (thanks to my friend) on Tuesday. I received it in the mail by Thursday. Two-day shipping there and back. At first, I thought that was super fast, but then I realized there’s a 4-day window when I won’t have any clothes and I got kinda bummed. But, I’ll enjoy these new things while I can and then quickly ship them back so I can get more!

I picked out a pair of black pants, a chunky sweater, and a fancy printed shirt. I also asked for a pair of earrings and a necklace. I tried on everything and each piece fits. I can’t wait to wear the outfits to work next week! I’m excited about getting new clothes without having to commit to finding space in my closet. It’s a nice way for me to get the thrill of wearing something new every week.

Best part: Le Tote also has maternity clothes for rent. I wish I had known about their service before I invested a small fortune in maternity wear. Don’t make the same mistakes I did!

PS- If you are interested in trying it out, use this link and I’ll get a $15 subscription credit! Please and thank you!
